Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks blog tour. {Now Closed}

Psst...Guess what?

Do y'all remember my Roly Poly Owl Block? Well he's living large as part of the latest edition of Quiltmaker 100 blocks!  Can spot him on the cover?

 What about now?

This block came to me after I was playing around with my drunkard's path die from Accuquilt

I had a lot of fun experimenting!

I made this wall hanging and I am planning on giving it to a wise friend for all the good advice she has given me.  I still have not quilted the thing as tiny as it is...isn't that just shameful?

A few months ago some lovely anonymous person brought my block to the attention of the folks at Quiltmaker and I was given the opportunity to make a block for the Quiltmaker's 100.  Thank you, lovely anonymous person!

 I chose all new colors wanting to get a look that would work for younger children and even boys since I have 3 boys myself.  I also added settings to give the block a horizontal layout with a bigger sized block.  These blocks are 12" finished so you can make just 9 or 12 and have a great sized baby quilt.

Mission: accomplished. Orange, Chartreuse, Navy, & Gray Love that scalloped fabric from Bonnie&Camille's Ruby line...it made the perfect owl tummy!
We have this hanging in my twins' room and they do resort to trickery to get it moved over THEIR bed instead of in between the beds.

If you're not an owl fan, fear not...

By choosing different fabrics and rotating your block you get:
Fish!
Lots of fish!

Special thanks to my awesome friend Vicki P.  She did her specialty (needle turn applique) on the eyes for the magazine block.  She did an amazing job!

If you'd like to win your very own issue of Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks, drop a comment below as your entry.  If you are a follower of this blog, old or new, you can drop an extra comment for an extra chance.  You do not have to be a follower to win.  A winner will be drawn at random at the end of the hop.  To see other legs on the hop, check out the Quiltmaker website.  Thanks for playing along!
