Embroidery Finish: The Mystery Machine

I finished this a long, long time ago.  I got on an embroidery kick that lasted a good 10 minutes before my first love, quilting, came calling back to me.

I stitched up the Mystery Machine for Scooby Kid.  He sat and watched intently as I stitched.  Actually, all 3 of the boys PLUS my husband were mesmerized.  It was weird...twilight zone weird.
I put some borders on it and made it a pillow.  It now lives on Scooby Kid's bed along with Scooby pillowcases and this quilt

We are so matchy, right? hahaha

I really need another embroidery project but I feel like the Mystery Machine was so fun to stitch I just can't follow it up with something like a flower or a bird.  Any suggestions?

  2. I adore this! Scooby-Doo is one of my all time favorites and now my daughter loves him just as much.

  3. You can use any simple image. Coloring books and on-line coloring pages are a great source for patterns.

A couple of years ago I made a bunch of Loony Toons dish towels for my brother-in-law.

What do the other kids like?

  4. Cindy: One loves Percy from Thomas & Friends (which would be easy enough...just need to go buy the right colors). I actually got my oldest started on his own embroidery where he drew something out and is now outlining it. You He picked a scene from a Mr. Bean episode. Heaven help him, he will go to second grade impersonating Mr. Bean and nobody will get the joke!

  6. Oh my word - I love the Mystery Machine! I wish I had the patience for handwork. My friend is on a huge embroidery kick and just got a book from the library called Doodle Stitching. Great stuff in it.
