Five years ago today, these guys came into our lives.  Today they are five.  Normally I feel excited and blessed when my children reach a birthday.  I love the party planning, getting gifts together, and celebrating their  lives.  This year is different.
It's not that I am not grateful for these two sweet boys being in our life...


It's just that now I realize my babies aren't...

Right now I am working on an idea of a triple 4 patch.  These are the smallest components and will finish at 2".

Skipping School</title><summary type='text'>
It feels like it has been a while since I released a new pattern.  A lot of things were happening here (some good, some not so good) and this quilt got put on the back burner.  I was worried the curves would be too scary for people but in the end I just couldn't push this idea out of my head.  It was just screaming to get made so I went ahead and made it.

    The worst stain ever was red wine on a white silk blouse. I had to soak it for 24 hours and then treat it two more times before the wine came out.

Alrighty, folks...I have finally finished the second scrap quilt I actually like.  Well, sorta finished.  If a section of that binding looks a little fat it's because it's not hand sewn to the back yet.  SHHH...don't tell.

I really like this design for scraps.  It would work perfectly with a jelly roll for the 4 patches and a solid honey bun for the sashing.

I have started trying to use some scraps in ongoing projects so that I can collect more fabrics and it looks more like a scrap quilt and less like a quilt I just made unfortunate fabric choices on. 
Too few fabrics in a scrap quilt can end up looking like you just don't know how to match.

Spray adhesive or pins
13 3.5" tumbler blocks cut using the Accuquilt GO Baby.

We're under water conservation guidelines.  The earth is cracking and my plants are dying.  Like I said in my last post, I've given up watering.  At some point when the earth gets so dry, no amount of watering I can do with a hose will cut it.  The ground becomes so dry it can't even hold water. Recently we let the twins experience Build-A-Bear workshop.  $57 later, we had 2 puppies going commando&amp; 2 t-shirts.  I was not feeling the $6 tiny shorts.  I knew I could make that, and I did. The fabric is Modern Workshop by Oliver&amp;S for Moda.  It's bound in Kona Coffee.
